Prevent Diabetes and Produce Savings in Three Years, CEO Roundtable

Join the Louisville Health Advisory Board’s effort to make Louisville a healthier place.
Prediabetes is an early warning sign of diabetes – an expensive and debilitating condition for Louisville’s employers and employees. The Centers for Disease Control created the Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) to help individuals and organizations build healthier communities. This evidence-based program will help individuals identify and change certain aspects of their current lifestyles.
Research indicates that successful completion of the program results in a 58% reduction in the onset of Type 2 Diabetes.
During World Diabetes Month in November, the Louisville Health Advisory Board will be talking with corporate and community leaders about how to bring the DPP to more people in Louisville. You are invited to join this conversation at the CEO Roundtable: Prevent Diabetes and Produce Savings in Three Years.
Speakers include:
  • Rae Godsey, DO, MBA, Corporate Medical Director, Humana
  • Jenny Goins, Commissioner, Kentucky Employees Health Plan
You’ll leave this session with answers to these questions:
  • What is pre-diabetes?
  • What is the CDC’s Diabetes Prevention Program?
  • How can offering the DPP as a covered benefit reduce healthcare costs?
