One of the largest accounting firms in the Louisville area is merging with a Charlotte, North Carolina-based company, resulting in a combined venture with $1.4 billion in annual revenue.

BKD CPAs & Advisors, based in Springfield, Missouri, but with a large local office, and Dixon Hughes Goodman (DHG) said the merger will result in a “top 10, national professional services firm, setting the stage for a national growth strategy.”

Terms of the transaction were not released. BKD is the fifth-largest accounting company in Greater Louisville, with more than 50 local CPAs.

David Tate, managing partner of BKD’s Louisville and Evansville offices, said via email the merger will help strengthen both recruiting initiatives and client service in the local market.
