Session 1: Our Healthcare Ecosystem

Overview of program from HEN leaders and presentation from Roberta Challener, PhD, from Bellarmine University, “Ecosystems—Building a Sustainable Environment.”

Session 2: Healthcare Provider Perspective

Panel discussion with Dr. Monalisa Tailor, President of Greater Louisville Medical Society discussing how the role of the physician has evolved; and Tom Miller, CEO of UofL Health discussing the role of hospitals.

Session 3: Healthcare Innovation

Presenters Ben Reno-Weber, Deputy Director for Future Knowledge at University Research and Innovation; Sheri Rose, CEO of the Thrive Center; Alice Shade, CEO and President at 4 A Ventures; and Kwane Watson, Founder and CEO of Kare Mobile discussing healthcare innovation.

Session 4: Our Healthcare Ecosystem

Lessons learned about the healthcare ecosystem and a forum for Fellows to discuss the role of their organization within the ecosystem.

Session 5: Healthcare Headquarters

Moderated by Benjamin Moore, VP, Strategic Alliances, Louisville Healthcare CEO Council (LHCC), covering the topic of healthcare headquarters. Panelists include Michael Bryant, Executive VP & Chief Administrative Officer at Trilogy Health Services; Daryn Demeritt, Senior VP, Government Relations at ResCare; and Tyler Perkins, Executive Director of Business Development and Provider Relations at Hosparus Health.

Session 6: Education and Workforce Development

Panel discussion covering education and workforce development and the role it plays in building the healthcare ecosystem.  Panelists include Joseph A. (“Tony”) Brosky, Jr., PT, DHSc, SCS, Professor and Dean of the School of Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences, Bellarmine University; Sonya Hardin, PhD, MBA, MHA, Dean of the School of Nursing, University of Louisville; Misty Stutz, PharmD, Dean and Professor, Sullivan University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences; and Kurt Jefferson, PhD, Dean of Graduate Education, Spalding University.

Session 7: Nonprofit Role in Healthcare

Fellows explore the non-profit role in healthcare; diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives within healthcare companies and in the community; and healthcare in underserved/underrepresented communities. Guest speakers include Charlotte Stites, MD, founder of the Smoketown Family Wellness Center; Deborah May MBA, BSN, RN, vice president of Learning, Development & Inclusion at Hosparus Health; and Rebecca Hollenbach, MPH, executive administrator at the Center for Health Equity.

Session 8: Healthcare Logistics

A presentation from Warren Olson, Vice President of Healthcare Distribution Operations at UPS, who is responsible for the distribution operations for 54 pharmaceutical, medical device and invitro diagnostics companies operating across 2.5 million square feet of healthcare compliant space. The session concludes with a tour of the UPS Healthcare campus.

Session 9: Leadership Lessons and Graduation

Fellows celebrate the completion of the program at Everyday Kitchen Restaurant & Bar. Presentation from Russell F. Cox, President & CEO of Norton Healthcare, on lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic.
