Abbie Gilbert
Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Humana
Abbie Gilbert is with Human’s Office of the Chief Medical Officer working on the company’s population health strategy; known as Humana’s Bold Goal of making the communities we serve 20% healthier by 2020. This team’s work allows Humana to connect its market based assets with the local health initiatives for the benefit of members, employees, and the community at large. Abbie began her work at Humana in 2014 in the Management Consulting Organization where she worked with company leaders at all levels to define and evaluate initiatives, lead consulting engagements, and work on project specific goals for leadership and the executive team.
Prior to Humana, Abbie spent time at the University of Louisville, College of Business in Marketing & Public Relations, and Financial Services Recruiting and Development at Northwestern Mutual Financial Network. Abbie is a graduate of the University of Louisville with a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health, where she is a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority, currently serving as the Kentucky State Alumnae Chairman.
Some of Abbie’s community involvement positions include serving as the President of YPAL (Young Professionals Association of Louisville) in 2011; Leadership Louisville Ignite Program Graduate in 2012; currently serving as a board member of the Louisville Metro Police Foundation; a board member of the Kentucky One Health/Jewish Hospital & St. May’s Foundation; and is the current Vice President of Communications for the Junior League of Louisville. Abbie was named one of the Louisville Business First’s 40 under 40 in 2012.
