Director, Inclusion & Diversity, Humana
Chris joined Humana in May 2019 as Director of Inclusion and Diversity. In this role, Chris works with more than 200 partners, champions and supporters across the enterprise in support of the company’s I&D strategic initiatives and goals. His role includes leading strategy development and implementation, developing diversity action plans and communication strategies, and managing local and regional external partnerships. Chris also works with Humana’s Human Capital Analytics team to support the company’s long-term I&D data and analytics strategy and with company local, business aligned and executive Inclusion and Diversity councils to conceptualize and develop long-range strategies to elevate Humana’s inclusive culture.
A graduate of the University of Louisville, Chris has an extensive background in diversity education, recruitment and retention as well as strategic planning and outreach initiatives. He has been a presenter of numerous workshops and training sessions on leadership, communication and diversity. In addition to his time as a diversity educator, recruiter and advocate, Chris has championed various professional and personal initiatives to open the doors of education, opportunity and leadership development to minority and other underrepresented groups. His professional portfolio includes classroom teaching, community outreach and curriculum development and design. Chris is a strong believer in alternative dispute resolution and has been trained as a dispute mediator. His past professional accomplishments include serving as the chair of various diversity engagement and cultural competence planning teams at both the university and executive levels.
