Hope McLaughlin

Director of Government Relations, Passport Health Plan

Hope McLaughlin joined Passport Health Plan as Director of Government Relations in 2016. Her focus is to further the Passport mission by advancing policy to improve the health and quality of life of Kentuckians.

Prior to joining Passport, Hope worked as the Director of Government Relations for the Kentucky School Boards Association, the largest organization of elected officials in the Commonwealth. As the chief lobbyist for Kentucky’s 173 school districts, she worked on a wide variety of issues including, education policy, pensions, and juvenile justice. Hope also provided CLE opportunities for the Council of School Board Attorneys and continuing education for school administrators. Before working in the K-12 policy arena Hope worked in government relations for the University of Louisville. During her time with UofL she gained valuable experience working on higher education policy, healthcare, and the state budget.

Hope also worked for members of the Kentucky General Assembly as an intern for three legislative sessions during her undergraduate career at UofL. She is a proud alumna of the University of Louisville and Brandeis School of Law. Hope volunteers with the Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana and enjoys watching Cincinnati Reds baseball with her family.
