Amie Oakes joined the Health Enterprises Network in February 2010 as program director for both the network and the Louisville Healthcare Fellows. In this capacity, Amie will lead the network’s current class of Louisville Healthcare Fellows (LHF), a business acumen program for rising healthcare executives, along with LHF’s alumni group and Board of Directors. She will also help plan and direct the network’s numerous knowledge networking events.
With a professional background in education, Amie comes to the network with strong skills in teaching, management and program development. She has worked in various capacities and with increasing levels of responsibility for Kindred Healthcare, National College, Northwood University and Jefferson County Public Schools. Amie was intensively involved with GLI’s HIRE Connections Committee and served on its executive council in the capacity of secretary for three years. Through her committee work with HIRE, Amie worked extensively with area businesses to cultivate economic development through partnerships with the area’s higher education institutions.
Amie obtained a bachelor’s degree in music and a master of arts in teaching from the University of Louisville. She is a native of the Louisville area and currently lives in the Crescent Hill neighborhood.
